Wine Bottle make over

Save your wine bottles & turn them into Art!
remove all the stickers clean and dry well, then paint them with really cute colors
(I always use krylon)
Aren't they cute?
I think so too*

Here is where I put them:
LOVE IT!

This project was free*
I had the empty wine bottles (cause I rarely throw glass bottles away)
and I had the paint from other projects in the past

Headboard make over

Jessie brought home this King sized antique headboard last Saturday night as a surprise! Isn't he the best ever? I was so excited I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! So the next day I got busy...

Here it is after I sanded it a little
One must be able to see what something can become to be a good thrifter*

one coat of primer,
word from the wise ALWAYS PRIME...don't ask me how I know just do it!

So I forgot to take a picture of it after I painted it white.
I ALWAYS USE KRYLON (by the way)
& it's always way cheaper at Wal Mart

To get the antiqued look I used a black glaze (the same one I used on the blue acid mirror)
paint a small section with a sponge brush, then wipe off with a dry cloth, then wipe off with a damp cloth. Make sure to leave in the cracks and lines of your furniture. Use as much or as little to get the desired look.

See?
& I love the spindles on this bed!!!

TADA!!!!
(excuse the horrible plug, that's whatcha get when you live in an old house, stay tuned to see how I cover it up)

I LOVE OUR HEADBOARD!

sorry the picture is so small. But this is the duvet cover I want for our bed, it's from Urban Outfitters for $200. But I WILL NOT be spending that, so I will make it for less than $50 and do it myself....stay tuned for that very soon!!!

Go paint something!!!

Anthro Acid Mirror

Acid Mirror inspired by Anthropology*

Stephanie Raye & I made perfectly new mirrors look vintage and antiqued. [{(You can see her blog HERE)}] Now you all know how I can not take a good picture to save my life so bare with me and enjoy these as much as you can. We had fun doing this & learned some tips to share about what NOT to do....
What not to do when using epoxy remover & acid:
1. do not wear a long flowing skirt
2. do not wear sandals
3. do not buy cheap epoxy remover, cause it will take all day & you will have to make multiple trips to the store for more.
4. do not place small mirrors on a piece of cardboard without something heavy to hold it down, the wind will blow and they will fly away and break on the concrete.
Don't ask me how we know.... just head my words of wisdom!

Here is your tutorial I super duper like Mady from vintage revivals, you should check out her blog as well!

One day when Steph isn't crazy busy working hard, then she will blog about our experience and I will share it with you here. She took awesome pictures as we went along & I even snapped pictures with her camera (...to prove to the world that it's not my fault my pictures are crap, it's my cameras)
Until then....
Here are a few bad pictures I took of my AMAZING mirrors:

I HEART THESE MIRRORS!!!
