REALLY cute Pin Cushion
May have asked for a tutorial so here ya go!!!
What you need:
the smallest mason jars on the planet
a square of fabric [great way to use up some scraps]
card stock paper
hot glue gun
cotton fill
fancy pins
Lets do this...
take your jar apart
trace the inner circle of the lid on card stock & cut out
Then you are going to stuff the hoop of the lid with cotton
This is actually what it looks like when stuffing the hoop. You want to make sure you put enough cotton filling so that long pins will stick into it without standing up too high. Does that make sense?
Now put the inner circle back. This is closing the cotton in the top. Make sure there isn't cotton sticking out. If so just gently pull it while securely holding it with the other hand. Once you put the circle back in your fabric is going to look some what bunchy. Just hold everything together with one hand and pull on the fabric that is sticking out to undo some of the creases. You will have to leave some, just try not to leave many or big ones.
Cut the excess fabric off while still securing everything with a tight grip!
Hot glue the fabric down to the inner circle.
{Now you can ease up on your death grip}
Hot glue your circle of card stock for a finished look

This is what it should look like on the top side
Add fancy pins to the inside
The finished product!
They make great gifts
I actually made these three for my hubby's grandmother to give away as gifts!
This is a VERY simple and quick craft anyone can do.
So GO try it!
In my opinion Everything should be pretty.... even your pin cushion
So cute and teeny! Very clever way to put them together. I'm on a pin cushion craze, figuring just one is not enough for my craft room. These are clever and easy!
